Saturday Evening Cruise to Des Moines
So we gave everybody some time after the show to head back to their rooms and clean up or whatever. Some did that, some ate, some hung out and helped me take the trophy down for Greg (thank you!). Others even distracted drunk guys so that we could get things put away. Lots of help all around in that department. Again, thanks. We had 37 cars show up for the run down to Des Moines and we didn't lose anybody for quite a while! In the end, we all wound up in the right place and there was only one major problem, but we all pulled together, well, pulled OVER together and took care of it. Here's the shots!

Almost everybody had maps (thanks to the Iowa DOT and a particualr rest stop!), but since I knew the route I was in the lead. Here's what I saw and remember, every car you can see is a Scion!

See my "follow me" balloon? Cool, huh?

Scions as far as I can see! Okay, notice at this point how Joe's xA has been behind me at all times? Well, he stopped just after this...

...and so did everybody else! Seems that Joe got a flat. We changed it in about 5 minutes flat. That gave everybody time for a bathroom break...um, hey, I don't see a bathroom!
Oh yeah, we adopted a Honda too!

At one point a cop actually did drive by. He just smiled and waved at everybody. Can you even imagine how much paperwork he would've had to fill out for just TALKING to us!!

After we got Joe fixed we crossed Sailorville Bridge. This is when my cell started ringing and it didn't stop until we got to the Walgreens. Apparently several folks missed the turn right before the bridge. We got them back eventually though!

Arriving at the Walgreens en-masse!

Loitering.
I actually heard the store manager talking on the phone when we went in to get a drink. I quote "Man, it's just a zoo in here all of a sudden!" Good times!
